Okay, as I mentioned in the last post, I'm going to have to change how I'm doing things next year for More Joy. While I have no problem at all with the (so far) $1775 earned by all the hard work from the More Joy participants, I do think that it's not going to be sustainable for me.

I have two choices--limit the number of people that I accept (probably under 10, there are 16 now) or try to figure out how to do a sponsorship kind of thing where your $5 comes from someone supporting you in your goal that isn't me. Anyone have any good thoughts?

I've made it this week but none of the other weeks, sadly.

I REALLY like the idea of sponsorship. Because then the sponsor could also kick the participants butt, if needed. ;)

I'm glad to hear about this, because it gives me an opportunity to tell you: I really don't want to cash in at all. This project was really (REALLY) good for me all year, and it was the only reason that I ran sometimes. It motivated me in exactly the way that I needed. But I never really was comfortable with the idea of taking your money. I thought about telling you that you could donate it to a charity of your choice, but with this news, I'm telling you that I'd really just rather you keep my money for yourself. I know that probably doesn't help you THAT much, but it's the little bit I can do. My $0.02.

I think sponsorship would be an excellent way to go, if you knew a way to do that. Because I have no idea. The other option would be to continue doing it, but only have the first 10 people to sign up be considered the payout peoples.

I'm a no for all of the weeks you don't have me written down for. Busyexhaustedbee is busy. But I am getting back on track this week. Remind me to talk to you about [livejournal.com profile] bi_fit later.
